Legal
Terms
Last updated 30 August 2026
These are the terms we work under. They are also the answers to the questions that decide most projects, which is why they are on the website rather than in an attachment.
Pending: registered legal entity name, address and GST number are added here before launch. Each engagement is also covered by a signed agreement; where the two differ, the signed agreement wins.
Who owns the output
On final payment, we assign to you all rights in the final delivered work — the films, the characters we designed for you, and the canon documents behind them. In writing, without you having to ask.
We retain:
- our production pipeline, methodology and internal tooling
- the process by which a canon is built, but not your canon
- a non-exclusive right to show the work in our portfolio and on our channels — and only after you have approved it in writing (see portfolio consent below)
Originality warranty
We warrant that the work we deliver:
- uses original characters designed by us, not existing copyrighted characters
- contains no real person’s likeness or voice without a signed release from that person
- uses music that is either original or properly licensed for your stated use
- does not knowingly reproduce a third party’s protected work
If you supply material — brand assets, footage, music, a person’s likeness — you warrant you have the rights to it, and that warranty passes to us for that material.
How your material is handled
We are NDA-friendly and will sign yours. You get one named point of contact. Nothing you give us is published, shown or referenced without your written approval.
On tools: confidential client material is not submitted to generative services whose terms permit training on submitted content. Where a project requires a tool we are not comfortable putting your material through, we will tell you before the work starts rather than after.
Pending founder sign-off: the specific tool list and the exact wording of this clause are confirmed before launch (§21.16). A vague answer here loses enterprise deals; a clear one wins them.
AI disclosure
Our pipeline is AI-native and we do not hide it. We label AI-generated content wherever the platform requires it or your own policy requires it, and we will match your disclosure policy rather than ask you to match ours.
Revisions and change orders
Two rounds of revision are included, and they happen before canon lock. Canon lock is the point at which the character, world, look and grade are fixed.
Changes after canon lock are change orders: we quote the additional time before doing the work, and you approve it before we start. This is not us being inflexible — a change to a character sheet in week two costs an afternoon, and the same change in week twenty costs every frame produced since.
Payment
Structure is set per engagement in the signed agreement. Ownership transfers on final payment, as above. Invoices and delivery paperwork go by email — that is post-conversion administration, and nothing on this site invites an email before then.
Portfolio consent
We ask for written approval before publishing any client work. If you would rather we never show it, that is a normal answer and it does not change the price.
Concept work
Some work on this site is self-initiated spec work made for a brand category rather than for a client. It is labelled “Concept cut” wherever it appears, and it never implies a client relationship that does not exist.
Liability
Our liability for any engagement is limited to the fees paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

For anything commercial, message us on WhatsApp — that is how we work. For legal notices, which need a written address, use hello@aimaginist.studio.
